It's October already!

I can't believe this year is almost over. This month Nate was baptized, Grandma visited, and we got to spend time with Audrey, Elizabeth, Hugh and Meegan. Oh yah, and Lucy helped make brownies...

The Pumpkin Patch

Lucy and Nate (sleeping in the stroller) had a great time in the pumpkin patch. Lucy picked out some easy to carry ones for both herself and Nate. Lucy got tired out and caught a ride home on daddy's shoulders. I also snuck in a picture of Lucy and Nate hanging out...

Beech Mountain

Lucy and Nate (and their mommy and daddy) had a great time with Tom and Cindy (aka Nini and Papa) 2 weekends ago at Beech Mountain. Papa took this picture.

Lucy is 2!

Lucy had a wonderful birthday. We celebrated on the 11th at home and having lunch out with Daddy. Then we went to Nini and Papa's house for a birthday party with Kim, Peter, and Hannah! (When Lucy got home she said, "I missed Will!") She got lots of fun presents and had fun blowing out the candles on her cake!

Lucy is having fun!

Lest anyone think that Lucy is getting lost in the new baby shuffle- here are some videos to show that she's holding her own...

Nate is 5 weeks old!

We've had lots of great visitors!

Maija, Jamie and Kjell visited...
Rebecca, Michael, Eryn, and Cayla...
And, Grandma was here for 3 weeks!
Lucy loves her little brother! She gives gentle hugs and loves to hold him!

Here is Nate on 7/15/08, 5 wks and 1 day... He's getting big, over 9 lbs!

We visited with Nini and Papa for several days and saw pictures of cousin Bill's wedding. It was beautiful! We saw Audrey and Elizabeth looking very pretty as flower girls. Hi Audrey! Hi Elizabeth!

Also we enthusiastically welcome Caroline Gribble! Congratulations Phil, Jammie and Saywer!

Getting to Know You

Welcome Nate!

Nathaniel Gray Dyer was born on June 9, 2008 at 2:44pm. He was 6 pounds 5 ounces and 19 inches long. Nate and Mommy just got home from the hospital today and we're all getting our bearings. When Mommy and Nate got home we introduced Lucy to him and she replied warmly, "Brother!" She's been very glad to have him around and has a hard time keeping her hands off of him. She delights with every squeak and twitch.

Easter 2008

Lucy had a wonderful time hunting for eggs at Nini and Papa's house. She found a goldfish in each of the plastic ones! Unfortunately, her mommy didn't consider that she'd look for goldfish in the hardboiled eggs as well- we had some squished eggs...

Back-tracking

Here are a few pictures from our visits with the New Jersey Dyers and the Dansies in Maryland. We had a great time seeing everyone on our way home from MA at Christmas!

An update, finally...

Wow, it's been a long time since we've updated the blog. We had a great time in Massachusetts for Christmas, including seeing friends on the way up and family on the way back to NC. We are excited to be expecting a new Dyer- a boy- in late June! And, in preparation for our growing family, we have bought a new house in Charlotte- just 4 miles southeast from where we are now. Here are a bunch of photos of Lucy's recent adventures.

Crazy hair in the morning!

Hanging out with Daddy and Greer at Beech Mountain (mommy was taking photos)Lucy's nose had a run-in with the road while we were hiking- she was fine, but that's why her nose is scratched:

Lucy loves talking on the phone:

And playing peekaboo:

Lucy enjoyed smelling the flowers in our front yard (until she figured out how to pick them):

She loves her baby:

New sunglasses! (you can hear her "please", but she did not want to clap like a seal- didn't stop mommy for trying...):
